Wow, what a week! Glad to be home, in air conditioning, and listening to Miles Davis The Birth of the Cool.
Great photos and updates, Sandy! Whew, that was a Herculean effort, but if you go back to posting every other day or so, you wouldn't have to write the great American novel every ten days! Plus we're all lazy and it's easier to just read small chunks.
Which reminds me of a great article I just read... it's the cover story for this month's Atlantic:Is Google Making Us Stupid? that's definitely worth the time. A great quote:
In deciding when to eat, to work, to sleep, to rise, we stopped listening to our senses and started obeying the clock.
And it talks about how writing was seen as a great decline from oral storytelling, and then the typewriter, and then the printing press, and then television, and then computers... they're all neutral, of course, but they are changing us and the way we process and store information. Neil Postman would love it, and so will you. Really: read it now!
Anyway, I'm ready for some R&R, so peace out, everyone... enjoy the beautiful weekend God's given us!
