Sunset

Drew and I just got back from checking on the cows. I took this picture from out behind the cow barn. It did not come out as clearly as I had hoped. The cows are lined up along the fence higher up on the hill to the left of the view. Let it be said that the sunset was incredible. Our house will sit on higher ground yet. We let two calves out into the pasture today. This morning Drew let out #8, the little one born on Wednesday. Tonight we released #2 and 2A. Its so cute to watch the calves run and kick and jump.
Ben had his first IV treatment this afternoon. He said it went OK.
You are so right about the sand mound thing Rob. I guess they were designed for warm/hot climates with sandy soil base. A far cry from western Pennsylvania.
I continue to walk in His Grace, knowing He holds my family, my home, my future, and my eternity in His scarred Hand.

So, it's certain that Ben's vision problems are related to MS? Is any of it reversible? Is any of it able to be treated with glasses or medication?

Whew. I appreciate how you always balance the heavy content of your blog posts with lighter stuff.

Cool sunset photo, by the way!

Oh man. Bad news, everyone, from Chocktaw Ridge... apparently Billie Joe McAlister jumped off the Tallahassee Bridge.

I'll write more later... I've got 5 more acres in the lower 40 to plow... but it's a shame about Billie, anyhow.

More bad news!

Tommy used to work on the docks, but the union's been on strike, he's down on his luck... it's tough, so tough...

Gina (his wife) dreams of running away, and when she cries in the night Tommy whispers "baby it's okay, someday..."

She says they've got to hold on to what they've got, 'cause it doesn't make a difference If they "make it" or not because they've got each other and thats a lot.

For love --- they'll give it a shot.

And oh man, don't even ask me about my friend Lola. See, she used to be a dancer...

Uhhh... What?!?

This is like walking into a room at my family's house.

When my mom, aunt, grandmother and grandfather get together they start talking about different people.

They talk about how Marlene is dying and how Jackie's husband just left her for her younger sister...

I have walked into the room hearing them talk and sit down in shock listening to all of them talk. "This is terrible" I say... After about 10 minutes I realize they are talking about a soap opera...

Well tomorrow is my first day working for Steve... I might buy a house... :)

Wow! And I thought I had a long day.
Ben's RIGHT eye cannot be corrected with lenses. The tech tried while I was in there to find one that would help. No go. The damage in this eye is several years old.

Technically, its optic neuritis that is the cause of the eye problem, a symptom of MS sometimes.

The IV drip now, is to hopefully restore or prevent further damage to his LEFT eye.
Thanks for asking and praying.

Have fun tomorrow Vic.
I have some good cow stories from today, but they will have to wait until in the morning.

You go buy houses, Vic! Stimulate that economy!

And Sandy: looking forward to cow stories and Ben updates, not necessarily in that order. Heh.
