Lost Pup

Please pray for my dear friend Cynthia. As if her recent car accident was not traumatic enough, her family dog of ten years had to be put down this afternoon. He had cancer and was in very poor health. We all thought it was doggie bronchitis or some such anti biotic curable ailment. She is very sad, and now has no companion to sit with her through her recovery.
Babies went to Grandma Bev's tonight. Seems so quiet. Restful though. I am weary worn, but looking forward to a few days to rest and regroup. Can't wait to see my house, Drew says the plasterers are done. Hope to get up tomorrow. Also, due to the increase in the size of my part time family; we are trading in my little Lincoln SUV on another Suburban. Not my choice of a car by any means. But praise God we are in a position where we are able to buy what we need. I swore I would never drive that large a car again. More challenges and changes; all in the Hand of a God who knows so much better than I what it is that I need.

I am so sorry for Cynthia... that would be really hard.

Had to laugh at the Suburban photo... you knew that was coming... :)

Well, I cried uncle today on the new laptop. The third motherboard (in a month) is bad and needs replaced... I told Steve that I was weary dealing with Dell and just wanted to send it back. He agreed. So now we are quitting Dell altogether... but unfortunately it is really hard to find a computer that has Windows XP instead of Vista and if you install the XP on a new computer you void your warranty and they report that it might not be compatible with all the other software programs... Steve is looking into our options... we might just jump on the Vista ship together given he needs a new computer too and then we can have support groups for when all the bad stuff happens...

I asked if he would just buy me a typewriter...

Oh well when this is all that is making me crazy that must mean I have a pretty good life.

I am enjoying the cooler weather. I think today is the first day in months that I wore socks. I love how cozy it feels to have soft, long sleeves on and maybe a lap-throw... (uhhh, I sound like an old woman!! all I need now are some Kleenex shoved up the sleeve of my shirt and some knee highs around my ankles...)

Have a great day all, enjoy this wonderful fall season.

Sorry bout your computer woes Vic. That's really tough when you are trying to work. But the glory of autumn sure does bring perspective.

As much as i really, really like Macs, it sounds like you've had unusually bad luck with your PC's. Of course, I recall how Joe went through several PC's (and motherboards) until he found his current, lucky, one.

I've been using my HP, downgraded to XP Professional, for a year, now, and I use it, hard, every day. It travels with me, and gets banged around a lot. And I've not had one virus or problem. Yet. I'd go crazy if I had the computer problems so many other people I hear about do.

To add to your lists, because I know you're keeping them because, after all, its all about me:

I like cherry limeade. A lot. I've been burning through 2-3 quarts A DAY at times. Visit me in rehab.

And those big Thomas' "Everything" bagels, toasted, and slathered with garden vegetable cream cheese.

And I can eat Rothbury Farms Cheese Garlic croutons right out of the bag (Caleb Murphy got me hooked on them).

Those deep-fried macaroni and cheese triangles, from Arbys? Yeah, I like them, too. A lot. Think about it: creamy, cheesy, macaroni and cheese... rolled in Panko, and deep fried.

The cooler weather rocks, and the leaves changing are amazing... the drive to and from Harrisburg is especially nice, in the fall.

Nice ride, Sando. Is it really black? With chrome wheels? That would be one fine hoopty!

Did I talk, yet, about how much I enjoy the new (well, about six months ago) release by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss? The gravel-voiced hard rocker meets the petite, graceful, silk-voiced bluegrass singer. And what crazy magic they make, together! It's classified as "country," but there's a little bit of blues, rock, bluegrass, and R&B on there. Raising Sand, and you'll note that, on Amazon, people love it or hate it... 263 five-star ratings, and about 70 one-star ratings.

I think I'm supposed to be doing something... oh yeah, my bagel needs slathered, and there's cherry limeade to drink...

I still cannot sign into MY blog just sign in to comment. Way cool though. Happy Sunday!

Hi... my name is Vicki... and I...uh... I am a Green Tea-aholic...

For the last 15-20 years my beverage of choice has been water. I love water. I drink about 2 1/2 gallons of water a day... maybe more. I started chewing gum to help me cut down or I would probably drink 3-4 gallons a day. My meds make me thirsty and I like water...

Well, this past Friday I bought some Turner's Green Tea. I heard it is healthy to drink Green Tea and I always drink water, so I thought a little variety would be good... oh, dear... what I have I done...

I drank the entire gallon this weekend, and it isn't diet... lots of sugar.

I am going back to see if they make diet. I can't stop drinking it. I just drank a 20 oz glass in a few minutes and then filled it back up and am already half through that...

But that isn't my only problem...

Hi, my name is Vicki and I am a Bruno's wedding soup junkie... it's all I want to eat. I ate there yesterday for dinner and then bought a huge container to-go so I can eat it today.

There’s more… I am about to go into withdrawal... you see I love Watkins Garlic Liquid Spice (http://www.watkinsonline.com/search.cfm?gCatalogLocale=USA&ECredit=323239 ) - I don't know how to do the html code for the link...

Anyway, I absolutely love this stuff... I put it on garlic bread, soups, toast, actually most things I cook has this in it somewhere. I bought $40 worth of the stuff a while back and just ran out now. I go through it pretty fast.

My last vice is CocoaVia chocolate covered mixed berries. (I have only found them at Martin’s in the protein bar section.) It promotes a healthy heart…  Dark (very dark) chocolate covered blueberries and cranberries. MMMmmm. They come in individual serving size pouches, 5 in a box. A little pricy, but so, so worth it.

So that's all my latest vices... gotta get more tea...

ps Sandy, I could hold that little precious DA all day long (except I would need to go to the chiropractor if I did... he is a load... but I love every minute of snuggling with him... thanks for sharing.)

Just curious... anyone turned the heat on yet? When I was in college my roommate and I had a competition on who would give in first and turn the heat on. I think it got down to about 59 or 60 before we caved. We decided to call it a truce together and both turn it on... we were freezing. Ever since then I have enjoyed waiting as long as I can to turn the heat on for the first time each year (although I wouldn't do this with kids of course but when you live alone it only impacts one person...)

It is about 64-65 right now in my house. I have socks on, flannel pj's, and am curled up in a nice afghan my step-mom made me...ready for my afternoon nap... I hear those days are numbered too... :)

Have a great Sunday all...
