Wow, was it ever great to see James in church, yesterday, excitedly sharing how well his brother is doing!

This is an uber-crazy week for me: tonight I'm taking my boss and counterpart to dinner, in Pittsburgh. They're visiting, from Harrisburg, for a big meeting I'm having tomorrow, with about 20 foster parents from the surrounding area. Catered lunch, cheese and fresh fruit trays, fancy stuff, the whole nine yards. After that is the three-person, two-day licensing audit marathon from the State Children, Youth, and Family Services folks up at Meadville. On Friday I plan to turn my cell phone off and either sleep, watch some DVDs, or eat. Probably generous portions of all three.

And yet... do my problems and stress matter one whit? Not really.

Last week my car's heater blower stopped working, and the part they needed wasn't in stock so they loaned me a 2008 Acura RDX Turbo with all-wheel-drive, leather interior (with heated seats, of course), satellite radio, GPS, and the list went on and on. It was a sweet ride, and I had it for three days, since I had to spend time in Meadville. But as I was smugly driving it around, I realized how sad and shallow that is: that I felt cooler, better, really, than everyone else because of what I was driving. I was (slightly) conflicted about how much I liked driving it, and being seen driving it, I guess... and how pathetic it was. That's me. Why God picked me, I can't wait to find out, in heaven!

Is that Drew?

Thanks for the kind words, Sandy!

Dinner with the boss went well. We went to Johnny Carino's. The service was great, the food was excellent (and huge portions!), and the cost was very reasonable. Well, maybe just "reasonable."

My conference went well, in Pittsburgh, today. And the caterer came early (which was perfect!). The food was great, everyone seemed happy. All went well. Oh, I think they learned some stuff, too.

Now I'm in Meadville, relaxing. Tomorrow is the first day of the massive licensing audit, but I don't seem to be worried. Or I'm so worried, I'm out of it.

I made the snarky comment about how I was going to do nothing but sleep, on Friday? That's the first day of Friday classes! But mine isn't until 1:30, so I can still sleep late! Heh heh.

Whew I'm tired. Hope all is well with everyone else.

Johanna,
No it is not Drew. Some pic I found online by googling, frozen stuff pictures...
Rob,
Glad all your eating adventures went well, nothing worse than bad food for too much money. Ha Ha. The Kimmel mantra.
