pith·y adjective, pith·i·er, pith·i·est.
1. brief, forceful, and meaningful in expression; full of vigor, substance, or meaning; terse; forcible: a pithy observation.
2. of, like, or abounding in pith.

So that's what pithy means. I like it.

Thanks Roberto for your kind words. Cool has left a huge void in my barn. She was quite the lady; she had it all, looks, brains, personality, physical beauty and strength. She would be the last animal I have that one would expect to die an early death. I can only be grateful for the time she was part of my life. It will be a difficult walk to tread but I am confident that any and all afflictions produce mighty works in our spirits. Only those worthy of the call are asked to sacrifice. I do not say that with confidence in my own self, works, or deeds, but only by the grace of God in my life, and the knowledge that He will bring to fruition what He desires to pound into my week and willful being.

Nap time....

Yes, pithy is good.

Whew, they sure like to eat well, out here. Pizza Grille for dinner, tonight (Hawaiian BBQ chicken pizza, and bananas foster cheesecake for desert). Lunch is catered tomorrow, and dinner is at the Rock Bass Grill (I go for NY strip steak with blue cheese).

Except... I have two presentations. One Wednesday afternoon, and another Thursday morning. I may bust out the PowerPoint for my Thursday bit. You know that expression about dazzling them with BS. I'm all about the dazzle.

Thanks for reading Robert's blog, everybody!

Suffering and it's role in our sanctification. Man, THERE'S a deep and wide topic.

I'm taking my new book, "Respectable Sins," by Jerry Bridges, with me to Tucson... hopefully reading it by the pool.

Speaking of (as we veer back into my blog territory), my mom warned me that it's getting COLD there, at night... it's been down into the 50's! Yeah, 58. That was MAYBE our high, today. I can cope with that.

Okay... time to get some sleep...

I'm confused... I thought you were already in Arizona. But is seems like you are still working... didn't take you long to order the steak... (ha ha- I would be right there with you ordering all that good stuff... if they had ribs, I would probably be ordering them, of course the steak with blue cheese sounds really good...)

We were in the 60's here yesterday...

enjoy your trip... if I remember right, you eat pretty good at mom's too, I remember a Mexican restaurant the last time... it's all about the food...

So back to Sandy's blog... how you doing Sandy? Have you figured out your new computer yet? Mine had a few kinks for a while but once they were worked out it was smooth sailing. The Mac geeks won't be any help to you. Some guy in India who called me Bicki got me through it. Hope you have a great day... I am praying for you as I am off to a training in Latrobe...

I thought that since it would take about 3.5 hours to get to the airport from Harrisburg, that leaving at 1:00 would get me there in plenty of
time for my 6:00 flight.

And it did. BARELY. The snow in Sommerset was nuts. But then it cleared up. Then I hit about three Pittsburgh traffic jams.

I finally find a parking spot at the very, very, very edge of the extended parking lot, catch the bus to the terminal, and see the huge line, and decide that, instead of checking my bag, I'll just carry it on.

Then the massive security line, where EVERYONE had to take off their shoes, etceteras. I realize I have lots of fluids in my bag... ILLEGAL fluids. I'd have to throw away my entire tube of CrestPro! My AFTA pre-shave gunk! But I play dumb, and the whole thing went through with no problems.

It's 5:40. I get to my gate at 5:45... only to find... several Continental flights have been delayed. And by "delayed," they mean, not today, but tomorrow. No hotel reimbursement, just an $8 coupon for dinner for anywhere in the airport.

My new flight leaves at 6 AM. I had dinner at TGIFridays, and watched OTHER airline's planes take off.

The closest off-the-airport hotel was the Comfort Inn at the 60/22 intersection... about five miles from the airport. A smoking room. But I don't care. In a few hours I'll be up and back at the airport.

Whew. SO MUCH STRESS between 4:30 and 5:45...

Vicki, man, don't try to keep up with me, because, as you can see, I can't keep up with myself.

How are your headaches?

I'm really, truly, finally, leaving PA tomorrow (11/16) around 6AM, so I'll talk to all of you in a few days or so.
